On Wednesday, conservative circles on social media sharply criticized Democratic Representative Adam Schiff for suggesting that Republicans are motivated to impeach President Biden without the need for evidence.

“Republicans seem intent on pursuing impeachment, regardless of the existence of substantial evidence, indicative of the turmoil they are in,” Schiff from California said in an interview with FOX Business. This came in response to a growing sentiment among some GOP members about potentially impeaching President Biden due to purported links to his son Hunter Biden’s business engagements and alleged pay arrangements.

However, Schiff, who was the main House impeachment manager during President Trump’s impeachment, was broadly ridiculed on social media. Critics pointed out his role in pushing for Trump’s two impeachments and advancing the narrative of Russian collusion, all of which they assert were based on shaky evidence.

Former Republican Representative Doug Collins, criticizing Schiff, tweeted, “This from someone who claimed ‘collusion is blatantly apparent’ about Trump! This is ludicrous!”

Conservative commentator Graham Allen echoed these sentiments, tweeting, “Democrats launched impeachment proceedings against Trump over a PHONE CALL!!!! We possess evidence of bribery, and we refuse to be muzzled by ADAM SCHIFF, a proven deceiver.”

Former Trump advisor and experienced political strategist Roger Stone also chimed in with his critique, tweeting, “Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Adam Schiff, a deceptive swindler, should face treason charges. If it’s Schiff, discard it.”

In June, the House of Representatives censured Schiff for advocating unfounded accusations of Trump’s 2016 campaign colluding with Russia. The motion, which received no support from Democrats, made Schiff the third House member to be censured since the start of the 21st century.
