A Center for Strategic and International Studies analysis that closely tracks classified Pentagon data found that the United States expended at least 45% of its Precision Strike Missiles in the campaign, along with roughly half of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense interceptors and nearly half of its Patriot air defense missiles.
That level of usage in a single regional war surprised many observers who assumed U.S. inventories were much deeper. It also raised pointed questions about how many fights America can sustain at once.
Precision Strike Missile stocks were thin before the shooting started
