(RightIsRight.co) – Highlighting the growing tension between the Trump administration and the arts community, Vice President JD Vance faced a total disrespectful barrage of boos during his appearance at Washington’s Kennedy Center.

The hostile reception came after President Trump’s sweeping changes to the prestigious venue’s leadership, aimed at eliminating “woke” programming that conservatives have long criticized.
Vance and his wife Usha arrived 25 minutes late to the National Symphony Orchestra concert last evening, causing a significant delay due to motorcade and Secret Service security procedures.
As the couple took their seats during pre-concert announcements, audience members expressed their frustration through vocal booing, with some shouting and at least one person clapping in apparent protest.
When met with the hostile reception, Vance responded with a smile and wave, reportedly exclaiming, “You ruined this place!”
The Vice President’s comment seemed to reference the liberal audience rather than the cultural institution itself, which has undergone dramatic changes since President Trump’s intervention.
Richard Grenell, the Kennedy Center’s interim director and Trump ally, quickly condemned the audience’s behavior as “intolerant.”

“We didn’t like what they were showing and various other things. We’re going to make sure that it’s good and it’s not going to be woke. There’s no more woke in this country,” Trump wrote last month.
Trump has been transparent about his intentions for the Kennedy Center, announcing on Truth Social his plans to return the venue to a “Golden Age in Arts and Culture.”
The President has installed several allies on the board, including Vance’s wife, Usha, Susie Wiles, Pam Bondi, and conservative commentator Laura Ingraham.
The President’s move to reclaim this cultural institution from leftist influence has had immediate impacts.
Ticket sales have reportedly halved, with several artists, including Issa Rae and Louise Penny canceling shows in protest.
Even the producers of the liberal darling “Hamilton” withdrew from a planned run at the venue after Trump’s intervention.
The Kennedy Center’s transformation reflects the administration’s broader commitment to challenging liberal dominance in America’s cultural institutions.
President Trump specifically targeted drag shows aimed at young audiences, calling such programming “anti-American propaganda.”
Under the new leadership, the Center has already canceled a Gay Men’s Chorus concert scheduled to coincide with May’s Pride celebrations.
Despite the public display of liberal hostility, Vance’s approval ratings have actually improved to 44.8%, according to YouGov.
This suggests that Americans increasingly support the administration’s efforts to restore traditional values to the nation’s premier cultural venues.
The Vice President has positioned himself as a defender of masculinity against what he sees as the left’s attack on traditional gender roles.
