A recent CNN survey showed that around two-thirds of Americans believe that President Joe Biden should not be re-elected.
According to the national poll, which was released on Thursday, 32 percent believe that President Biden deserved to serve a second term in office. This marks a slight decline from the 39 percent that had held the same belief in the network’s December poll.
The poll also showed that 67 percent of respondents did not believe that Biden deserved a second term in office. This marks a 5 percent increase from last year.
In the CNN poll, Biden’s approval ratings are also in the negative, despite his insistence that he is going to be running for a second term in 2024. He has yet to officially launch a re-election presidential campaign.
During an earlier speech in February, the president had hinted that he has plans “to get… more done.”
Biden made history in 2020 by being the oldest person to have ever been elected president in US history. The 80 year old is going to be 82 by his second inauguration if successful in the 2024 presidential election. By the end of his second term he is going to be 86 years old.
The poll also showed that 32 percent of respondents believed that Biden has both the stamina and mental sharpness required to carry out the duties required of the President. Meanwhile the remaining two-thirds appear to disagree with that assessment.
