(RightIsRight.co) – President Joe Biden’s administration is using the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to funnel aid and transportation money to the millions of illegal immigrants entering the country while also asking Congress for more taxpayer money for the same purpose.
The Biden administration is using a FEMA program, established in the 1980s to tackle homelessness, to pay tens of millions of dollars to nonprofits transporting illegal aliens into the US interior, a report by The New York Post reveals.
The report stresses that FEMA’s homeless mission – known as the Emergency Food and Shelter Program – has recently been repurposed to help the illegals getting released inside the US to settle here.
Earlier this month, Biden sought more funding for the FEMA program, arguing that the border situation has grown harder to handle without more taxpayer money.
Besides that, the Democrat President has also asked Congress to allocate more federal money to the government’s deportation agency, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) but only so that it could help with the transportation of illegal immigrants inside the country.
In another funding request, Biden has asked Congress for an additional $1.8 billion for the Department of Health and Human Services, which will be used for housing illegal immigrant children and other expenses for the aliens.
The three funding requests in question, which will funnel more US taxpayer money for the servicing of illegal immigrants, are part of the Biden administration’s government funding proposal for the 2023 fiscal year, which begins on October 1, 2022.
According to the Biden administration, the requested illegal immigration funding is urgent due to “emerging needs along the southern border,” as per a White House document submitted to Congress.
Republican US Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, the highest-ranking GOP representative on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs appropriations subcommittee, blasted Biden and his administration over the requests.
“The Biden administration needs to address the crisis at the border more broadly than in any CR anomaly,” Capito told The Washington Times.
“We have surpassed over 2 million migrants for the [2022] fiscal year, yet they continue to avoid the decisions that can help us actually stem this crisis,” she added.
Andrew Arthur, a legal fellow at the Center for Immigration Research, reacted that the government’s coverage of the illegal’s transportation costs will stimulate more of them to cross into the US.
“Should American taxpayers be spending money for someone who paid $7,000 to a smuggler to come to the United States? They’ve got money. They wouldn’t be here if they didn’t,” Arthur said.
As per CBP data, some 4.9 million illegals, including 1 million gotaways, entered the US in the first 1.5 years of the Biden Presidency.
