(RightIsRight.co) – Americans scored a victory against Joe Biden’s regulatory regime as President Donald Trump’s Department of Energy (DOE) halted three efficiency mandates on home appliances.

The move marks a crucial step in dismantling federal overreach that has attempted to control everything from gas stoves to refrigerators in American homes.

The DOE announced it would postpone the implementation of three energy efficiency mandates initially set by the Biden administration.

The delayed regulations cover walk-in coolers and freezers, gas-fueled instantaneous water heaters, and test procedures for central air conditioners and heat pumps.

Department of Energy Secretary Chris Wright made it clear that these delays align with the Trump administration’s commitment to removing burdensome regulations that limit consumer choice.

The efficiency standards for walk-in coolers, freezers, and gas-instantaneous water heaters were finalized in December.

Meanwhile, the updated testing procedures for central air conditioners and heat pumps were just finalized in January.

Republicans in Congress have been working diligently to overturn the Biden administration’s climate and energy regulations via the Congressional Review Act (CRA).

This powerful legislative tool allows a simple majority vote in both chambers to cancel regulations, effectively bypassing the filibuster that Democrats might otherwise use to block these efforts.

House lawmakers are expected to vote on legislation to overturn energy conservation standards for walk-in coolers and freezers with a bill sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-OK).

Similarly, Rep. Craig Goldman (R-TX) is spearheading legislation to undo energy conservation standards for commercial refrigerators and freezers.

These efforts represent a broader pushback against the previous administration’s attempts to control America’s energy choices under the guise of climate policy.

The Biden administration’s efficiency mandates were part of a larger agenda to push Americans away from affordable, reliable appliances in favor of more expensive “green” alternatives.

Critics have long argued that these regulations drive up costs for businesses and consumers while providing minimal environmental benefits.

The pause on these regulations represents a return to consumer freedom and economic common sense.

Secretary Wright explained:

“By removing burdensome regulations put in place by the Biden administration, we are returning freedom of choice to the American people, ensuring consumers can choose the home appliances that work best for their lives and budgets. This power should not belong to the federal government.”

The delay of these energy regulations is just the latest move in the Trump administration’s effort to roll back the overreaching green agenda that threatened American businesses, particularly small ones.

With continued focus on deregulation, the Trump administration is fulfilling its promise to put American interests first and stand against unnecessary government overreach.
