White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was ridiculed for her recent meandering statement on MSNBC’s “All in With Chris Hayes” about President Joe Biden’s border policy.
During the awkward speech, Jean-Pierre criticized former President Donald Trump for having “truly gutted” the United States immigration system.
On Friday’s (March 10) episode of “All in with Chris Hayes,” Jean-Pierre touted the Biden administration’s border policy.
The White House press secretary began her ramble by claiming the Biden administration is “going to promise is that we’re going to do this,” adding that the administration will “move forward with a, with this kind of system, this immigration system,” that she described as being “truly gutted, by the last administration.”
Jean-Pierre asserted that the administration would build an immigration system “in a humane” and “safe way,” continuing, “And we’re going to do it in the way that moves us forward,” claiming that the current administration “is trying to fix the damage that the last administration do–did.”
Taking to Twitter, many slammed Jean-Pierre for her “word salad” and the substance of her comments.
Conservative writer Doug Powers joked that no one since Kamala Harris had spoken “Emptier words.”
Republican Senator Bill Hagerty (Tenn.) also explained that Jean-Pierre’s statements were the Biden administration saying “the quiet part out loud,” noting that the administration’s intention were to make “illegal immigration legal by not enforcing” current immigration laws.
Chad Gilmartin, the deputy spokesperson for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA.), highlighted that not even the White House Press Secretary could defend “Biden’s indefensible open borders.”
