(RightIsRight.co) – Sin City has seemingly become a bizarre city, as a Las Vegas woman is facing serious charges for stealing a casket with a corpse from a funeral home last week.
Watch the video below.
According to reports, 47-year-old Patricia Sierra has been charged with grand larceny, burglary, and disturbing human remains.
A local news outlet reported that the incident occurred around 3 a.m. at the Affordable Cremation and Burial Service funeral home.
Moreover, police documents stated that a passerby alerted authorities after seeing a body lying face down in front of the funeral home. Law enforcement claimed that the body had been set for viewing the day before.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows Sierra breaking a window to enter the funeral home. It also captured her carrying the casket out of the viewing room and leaving it outside. Police later found the body in the landscaping in front of the facility.
A representative from Affordable Cremation and Burial Service reportedly stated, “There is an ongoing investigation, so we cannot comment, other than to say an individual was arrested after attempting to burglarize our location.”
In addition, police tracked down Sierra two days later at a convenience store after a witness recognized her. According to an arrest report, Sierra told investigators she has a history of substance abuse and claimed she did not remember the incident, stating she sometimes “blacks out.”
She also allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol and said she was not acting maliciously. Sierra also reportedly confessed to previously burglarizing another establishment by breaking a window with a rock.
