Border Arrests Soar to Most in Nation's History

( – For the past year, Americans watched droves of immigrants from all over the world come to the US-Mexico border, putting enormous stress on US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) as well as nearby towns. CBP recently published a report detailing statistics from the fiscal year that ended on September 30, revealing that US authorities detained more migrants than ever before.

According to the CBP report, the US Border Patrol encountered 1,666,167 illegal immigrants between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021. This means they physically controlled or temporarily detained nearly 1.7 million people illegally trying to cross into the US, mostly at the southern border. The majority of these people were Mexican nationals or from Central American countries, although citizens from many other countries came as well.

The grassroots movement Tea Party Patriots shared their disgust for President Joe Biden’s handling of the situation:

While Biden did put Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of addressing the “root causes” of the largest migration spike in US history, those efforts seemed to have stalled as the second-in-command distanced herself from the crisis. This administration must address this ever-growing issue before America reaches its tipping point for the number of illegal immigrants it can hold.
