(RightIsRight.co) – Even after she was tasked to lead a major facet of the border crisis, retired Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott recently slammed Kamala Harris as she never spoke with him about this issue.
Scott, who led the Border Patrol during former President Donald Trump’s last year and Biden’s first seven months, said that meetings with the White House stopped once the current administration took over.
This communication gap persisted even after Harris was assigned to tackle the “root causes” of illegal immigration from Central America.
“Absolutely not,” Scott said when asked if Harris ever contacted him during his tenure. “As soon as the [Biden-Harris] administration came in, we were basically told in no uncertain terms that if they wanted our opinions, they would ask, but they never asked.”
“At no time did Biden or Harris ever ask to meet with or get briefed by U.S. Border Patrol,” the former chief added. “No meetings at all.”
Moreover, this lack of contact did not change when Harris was officially tasked in March 2021 to address the root causes of illegal immigration, particularly from Central America.
Despite the media giving her the “border czar” title, the retired Border Patrol leader argued she was clearly assigned to solve a key part of the immigration crisis — a task he claims she failed to accomplish.
“It was very clear to us and everyone else that she was appointed to actually take the lead and spearhead an initiative on border security,” Scott added. “One of the facets was on the root causes.”
He explained, “So if you only focus on the root causes, she went down to Central America, and the countries that she talked about on her one and only trip, the illegal immigration from those countries like doubled or tripled. She still failed miserably and there was no follow up.”
Scott noted that this lack of communication was a stark contrast to the Trump administration. “We had weekly White House meetings in the Trump administration,” he recalled.
He also mentioned a major shift in how Border Patrol personnel could interact with the media. Under Trump, Scott had the freedom to speak openly about the border situation. But once Biden and Harris took office, a gag order was essentially imposed, preventing personnel from freely discussing matters with the press.
Additionally, the Biden-Harris administration’s decision to undo many Trump-era border policies coincided with a huge rise in illegal immigration.
