(RightIsRight.co) – Breaking Now: According to several criminal justice experts, the following report is adding to the fears that similar murderous mayhem could take place behind the walls of prisons all across the United States because of the large populations of Central and South American inmates who’ve committed horrendously violent crimes after illegally crossing the southern border of the country.
***************
At least 68 prison inmates are dead, and scores more are seriously injured due to rioting between rival prison gangs behind the walls of a penitentiary in Ecuador.
According to the conservative New York Post, “Over 900 law enforcement officers spent most of the day trying to quell the violence — which lasted for around 8 hours — at the Litoral Penitentiary in the coastal city of Guayaquil, which officials have linked to international drug cartels.”
If photos and videos circulating on numerous social media platforms are accurate, and there’s no reason to believe they aren’t, many of the bodies littering the prison grounds were set on fire and are horrendously burned beyond recognition.
Incredibly, drone camera footage taken by law enforcement authorities from outside the prison shows that the inmates were heavily armed with weapons – including explosives – that were smuggled into them before the gang warfare and rioting exploded.
Prison experts in the United States are reporting that it’s only a matter of time before a similar event takes place within the country, given the dwindling number of correctional officers assigned to keep rival drug and race gangs separated.
What do you think? What is your opinion? Given the number of Central and South American gang members in U.S. prisons, do you believe similar violence could happen here? Why or why not?
