(RightIsRight.co) – Yesterday, with a statement that shocked American allies in NATO — and the rest of the world — United States PresidentJoe Biden, said of Putin at the conclusion of Biden’s biggest speech on foreign soil to date, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”
That off-script remark was immediately taken as a sign that Biden was calling for forced regime change in Russia — something that could be taken as a threat by Putin and the start of World War Three.
Now, numerous members of the Biden administration, most significantly U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, are trying to undo the damage Biden did to his and NATO’s stated foreign and military policy when it comes to Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As the conservative National Review notes this morning in “Blinken Says U.S. Has No ‘Strategy of Regime Change in Russia’ after Biden Says Putin ‘Cannot Remain in Power'”:
“U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken attempted to walk back President Biden’s comment that Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘cannot remain in power,’ clarifying on Sunday that the U.S. has no strategy of regime change in Russia…
“‘As you know, and as you’ve heard us say repeatedly, we do not have a strategy of regime change in Russia or anywhere else, for that matter. In this case, as in any case, it’s up to the people of the country in question. It’s up to the Russian people,’ he added.”
Will Blinken’s and other administration officials’ statements be considered too little, too late by Putin? No one knows. But, it is a safe bet that Putin, a former KGB agent who has watched more than one Russian/Soviet leader deposed during his lifetime, will now have in the back of his mind that Biden is encouraging forces inside Russia to do away with Putin.
