(RightIsRight.co) – BREAKING NOW: Just a short while ago, Joe Gibbs Racing, the NASCAR team headed by the legendary former NFL football coach and current owner of one of the best racing operations in the sport, announced that Joe Gibbs’s son, Coy Gibbs, age 49 and a co-owner of the team has died.
Compounding the tragedy, only hours before his death, Coy Gibbs’s son and Joe Gibbs’s grandson, Ty Gibbs, had clinched the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship.
Coy is the second son of Joe Gibbs to die as the other son, J. D. Gibbs, died of a brain disorder on January 11, 2019.
According to several reports, including from the Gibbs racing operation, Coy died in his sleep.
The cause of death is unknown and is pending an autopsy.
