(RightIsRight.co) – BREAKING NOW: In a decision that has angered former President Donald Trump and his supporters, a federal judge has dismissed Trump’s case against Hillary Clinton and several others concerning what Trump alleges are unfounded and legally actionable allegations made against him regarding his relationship with Russia.
As Fox News reports in “Judge dismisses Trump lawsuit against Clinton, DNC, officials involved in Russia probe“:
“A federal judge dismissed former President Trump’s lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic National Committee and a number of other high-profile figures involved in creating the narrative that he and his 2016 presidential campaign were colluding with Russia.
“Trump filed the lawsuit in March in the Southern District of Florida, alleging that Clinton and her’ cohorts orchestrated an unthinkable plot’ and ‘maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative’ that Trump was colluding with Russia.
“U.S. District Judge Donald Middlebrooks threw out the lawsuit, saying that ‘most of’ Trump’s claims were ‘unsupported by any legal authority’ and said the lawsuit lacks ‘substance.'” [emphasis added]
Trump’s attorneys fired back at the judge and said they would appeal the judge’s decision.
“‘We vehemently disagree with the opinion issued by the Court today,’ Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, said in a statement. ‘Not only is it rife with erroneous applications of the law, it disregards the numerous independent governmental investigations which substantiate our claim that the defendants conspired to falsely implicate our client and undermine the 2016 Presidential election. We will immediately move to appeal this decision.'” [emphasis added]
The judge also ruled that most of what Trump is suing about when it comes to statements by Clinton is protected under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
