(RightIsRight.co) – Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot has questioned the Christian faith of Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott because of his program for shipping illegal aliens from border communities to Democrat-run cities.
Besides Chicago, Abbott has been busing illegals to New York City and Washington, DC, to raise nationwide awareness about the migrant border crisis and shift the burden towards US communities governed by Democrats.
Lightfoot had already lashed out against Abbott, and she has been doing so since the first illegal immigrants arrived by bus in her city last week.
As soon as the Texas Governor announced on August 31 that he had sent the first bus of illegal immigrants to the Windy City, the Mayor’s office accused him of “racism.”
Lightfoot has spoken at a new press conference after 50 more illegals came to Chicago over Labor Day weekend, The Daily Caller reported citing Fox News.
“He [Abbott] professes to be a Christian. This is not the Christianity and the teachings of the Bible that I know. And I think religious leaders all across the country are standing up and denouncing exactly this,” Chicago’s Democrat Mayor declared.
“I think it’s decidedly unpatriotic and un-American. I understand the pressures that the people of Texas and some of the other border states are under. We see that on a daily basis. But the thing to do is not this. This is creating a human crisis. And treating people without dignity, without respect, it’s not who we are as Americans,” Lightfoot added.
The first reaction to her challenging the Texas Governor’s Christian faith came from Abbott’s press secretary Renae Eze, which focused on the fact that Chicago’s administration has declared it a sanctuary city where federal immigration laws are only leniently enforced.
“Attacking the Governor’s commitment to his faith is a pathetic political ploy to change the conversation away from Mayor Lightfoot’s unwillingness to uphold her city’s self-declared sanctuary status,” Eze said.
“Instead of lowly personal attacks on the governor and complaining about a few dozen migrants being bused into her sanctuary city, Mayor Lightfoot should call on President Biden to take immediate action to secure the border – something the President continues failing to do,” Governor Abbott’s press secretary elaborated.
