United Airlines Flight 202, a Boeing 787-10, departed Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Christmas Eve and landed at Kahului Airport.
Upon arrival, airport personnel made the grim discovery of a dead individual in the landing gear compartment, an area only accessible from outside the aircraft.
United Airlines released a statement confirming the incident:
“Upon arrival at Kahului airport in Maui on Tuesday, a body was found in the wheel well of one of the main landing gears on a United aircraft. United is working with law enforcement authorities on the investigation.”
