(RightIsRight.co) – Just as many conservatives and Republicans predicted, there are now demands the National Guard be called up coming from citizens shocked at the level of violence they are experiencing in numerous communities across the United States of America that started defunding their police departments because of the wrong-headed liberal, socialist, and communist ideologues who control many Democrat-led towns and cities.
According to the highly respected City Journal, in a piece headlined “See No Murder,” “According to CDC data released last month, 2020 bore witness to the largest rate of increase in homicides recorded in modern history—a finding that tracks with FBI data. Murder rose 29 percent from 2019 to 2020, surpassing the previous record 12.7 percent spike from 1967 to 1968.”
And, not surprisingly, a number of the towns and cities that are seeing skyrocketing murders and other violent crime are the very towns and cities that have been slowly but surely defunding their police departments to the degree that those resource-starved law enforcement agencies can no longer provide adequate security to the citizens they are sworn to serve and protect.
As City Journal notes in just one example:
“A Chicago mother whose four-year-old daughter was recently gunned down echoed the pleas of the citizens in Minneapolis: “We need help in Chicago . . . we need outside help from the National Guard or something because we are constantly living in fear.”
So, the citizens paying the price as crime victims because their “leaders” defunded the police are now crying out for the National Guard.

Minneapolis residents recently requested the governor to call the National Guard to “stop the bleeding” in the city.
