(RightIsRight.co) – In a shocking display of disrespect for America’s founding document, a climate activist wacko who vandalized the protective case of the U.S. Constitution has been sentenced to prison.
Jackson Green will serve 18 months behind bars for his brazen attack on one of the nation’s most sacred symbols.
Green and his accomplice, Donald Zepeda, pleaded guilty to destruction of government property after dumping red powdered paint on the Constitution’s display case at the National Archives.
While the document itself remained unharmed, the rotunda had to be closed for cleaning, denying patriotic Americans access to view this cornerstone of democracy.
The wacko activists claimed their criminal act was meant to highlight “environmental justice” and the right to clean air and water.
Nevertheless, the court served true justice when it handed down Green’s sentence, which included two years of supervised release and a $50,000 restitution payment for cleanup costs.
Moreover, U.S. Archivist Colleen Shogan condemned this assault on American values. She emphasized the profound symbolic importance of the Constitution and other founding documents housed in the National Archives.
Shogun said in a statement:
“Enshrined in the Rotunda at the heart of the building are the original founding charters of the United States of America – the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. These documents are the physical embodiment of our nation’s core principles and symbolize what it means to be an American.”
Shogan went on to explain the gravity of Green and Zepeda’s actions, comparing the incident’s impact to past anthrax and ricin attacks due to initial uncertainty about the substance used.
The archivist continued, “So when Donald Zepeda and Jackson Green conspired together on Valentine’s Day to defile the encasement of the Constitution, they were not just vandalizing a material object.”
“Rather, they intentionally and willfully assaulted our shared past and the beliefs which unite us as Americans,” she added.
This eco-extremist stunt caused emotional distress among National Archives staff and visitors, who were rightfully concerned about potential threats to their safety and priceless historical artifacts.
While the vandal will soon be trading his protest signs for prison stripes, his partner in crime still awaits justice. Zepeda’s sentencing is scheduled for a later date, where he will likely face the consequences of his misguided actions.
