(RightIsRight.co) – Even a CNN legal expert admits Stormy Daniels’ testimony yesterday was “disastrous” for the prosecution regarding her alleged relationship with former President Donald Trump.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, Daniels provided spicy and irrelevant details, which prompted Trump’s attorneys to call for a mistrial, which was rejected by New York Judge Juan Merchan.
CNN legal analyst Elie Honig observed that Daniels’ cross-examination by Trump’s attorneys did not bode well for Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
“Her responses were disastrous. I mean, ‘do you hate Donald Trump?’ Yes, of course she does,” Honig explained during a panel.
He continued, “That‘s a big deal. When the witness hates the person who‘s liberty is at stake, that‘s a big damn deal. And she‘s putting out tweets, fantasizing about him being in jail. That really undermines the credibility.”
Moreover, Honig highlighted additional concerns arising from the cross-examination, which included Daniels’ admission of owing Trump $500,000 and her defiance of a court order to pay him.
Also, he speculated that the defense could leverage these points to question her reliability. At the end, Honig added:
“The fact that she owes him $500,000, she, by order of a court, owes Donald Trump a half million dollars and said, ‘I will never pay him, I will defy a court order,’ the defense is going to say, ‘She‘s willing to defy a court order. She‘s not willing to respect an order of a judge. Why is she going to respect this oath she took?’”
Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has indicted Trump on 34 felony counts related to the alleged falsification of business records concerning a $130,000 payout to Stormy Daniels in 2016.
