NASCAR icon and legend Danica Patrick had a ‘red pill’ moment when she joined forces with Riley Gaines in defending women’s sports against biological males, amid a heated social media battle with Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.
Patrick’s no-nonsense defense of fair competition exposes a growing rift between elite athletes standing up for women’s rights and those promoting woke gender ideology.
The clash ignited after Gaines criticized the Minnesota State High School League for disabling comments on a post about a girls’ softball team featuring a transgender athlete.
When Biles attacked Gaines as a “sore loser” for her stance, Patrick stepped into the fray with a powerful endorsement of Gaines’ position.
“This issue has a shelf life. I truly believe common sense will prevail. But until then, I am grateful for people like Riley Gaines who are making sure no one gets away with it. Not to mention the fact that she actually lived it,” Patrick wrote on Instagram.
She added that “defending men in women’s sports is the woke mind virus and/or another issue that requires therapy. Either way, it is so irrational.”
The conflict escalated when Biles launched a personal attack on Gaines, writing:
“You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports more inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports.”
“It’s not my job or the job of any woman to figure out how to include men in our spaces. You can uplift men stealing championships in women’s sports with YOUR platform. Men don’t belong in women’s sports and I say that with my full chest,” Gaines replied.
Biles escalated the confrontation with a dismissive taunt, suggesting Gaines should “bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.”
The gymnast’s comments sparked outrage among supporters of women’s sports, who viewed her stance as betraying female athletes.
Gaines, who rose to prominence after tying with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas in a 2022 NCAA championship event, responded by measuring her height on camera, directly countering Biles’ personal attack.
She also referenced Biles’ past advocacy against sexual abuser Larry Nassar, questioning how the gymnast could now undermine female athletes’ right to fair competition.
Moreover, Patrick’s entry into the debate carries particular weight given her unique experience competing against men throughout her groundbreaking racing career.
The controversy highlights the growing divide in professional sports regarding transgender athletes.
While Gaines has transitioned to becoming a prominent political commentator praised by Trump for her advocacy, Biles has aligned herself with progressive gender ideology despite the biological advantages males bring to women’s competitions.
As the debate rages on, Patrick’s confident assertion that “common sense will prevail” resonates with millions of Americans who recognize the fundamental biological differences between men and women and the importance of protecting fair competition in women’s sports.
