Democratic Senators Face Issues Pushing Gun Control Bills

(RightIsRight.co) – Gun ownership is a cornerstone of many American homes and a freedom secured by our Bill of Rights. Unsurprisingly, Democrats are edging toward taking away your right to own and bear arms, although their current battle is facing quite a bit of pushback.

On Thursday, March 11, the House passed H.R. 8, a bill ensuring background checks are performed for every gun sale, even firearm sales between private parties. The bill now heads to the Senate where it will likely find itself “dead on arrival.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had hoped to bring the bill to the Senate floor on April 12, but Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Jon Tester (D-MT), and Susan Collins (R-ME) have publicly voiced opposition to the bill, making it nearly impossible for Democrats to get 60 votes to pass the bill.

Many Americans have raised concerns over the Left’s attempts to limit gun ownership and use rights, but expressed relief as support for the current bill dwindles:

The Left will likely continue to push and prod in order to get some form of gun control and restriction passed. Now more than ever, it is time to tell our Senators that our Second Amendment rights must not be taken away and to stand firm against the Democrat demands.
