Dems ‘DESPICABLE’ Because of THIS!

(RightIsRight.co) – Former Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill slammed “despicable” Democrats for politicizing the 9/11 attacks in their favor.

Speaking on “Sunday Agenda,” O’Neill commented on a recent decision Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin made following widespread outrage.

Austin walked back on agreed-upon plea deals that had been made for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind the September 11 attacks, and two others.

These cases were reinstated as death penalty trials shortly after a military commission in Guantanamo Bay announced the plea agreements.

O’Neill expressed dismay over the situation, telling host Lidia Curanaj, “It’s just despicable that we’re getting into this.”

“On 9/12, you had a lot of lawmakers on the steps of the Capitol singing ‘God Bless America,’ and now they’re playing politics as usual. They’re going to make excuses and blame other people like they always do,” he added.

He continued, “And they’re going to do what most politicians try to do get another term. And that’s where we’re at, and it’s sad. People are still dying from the aftereffects of 9/11.”

The plea deals came up as a controversial issue, with ongoing debates about whether evidence obtained through methods like waterboarding was admissible.

Clearly frustrated, O’Neill argued, “The fact that there are American lawyers arguing that waterboarding one of the major terrorists in the world responsible for the most atrocious attack on our country, that they’re even arguing that we shouldn’t have waterboard.”

He affirmed, “That’s easy. Waterboarding is not torture. It’s just inconvenient.”

When Curanaj questioned whether Austin’s decision to override the plea deals was influenced by the Biden administration or to aid Kamala Harris, O’Neill suggested, “I think it’s probably a combination of the two.”

He noted that the administration often lacks awareness of such situations and criticized Austin’s inconsistent involvement.

O’Neill concluded, saying, “He did make the right call to do that but the fact that we’re considering a plea deal with the mastermind of 9/11 is insulting anyway.”
