According to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), Vice President Kamala Harris is the best “insurance” against impeachment that President Joe Biden can buy.
DeSantis made these remarks on Thursday (June 22) at a campaign event, where he asserted that Biden would always be more favorable compared to Harris “no matter what he does.”
The Florida Governor highlighted how although people queried why Biden would have picked Harris as his Vice President “because obviously she’s got issues,” he understood why Biden would, describing Harris as “the best impeachment insurance money can buy.”
DeSantis asserted that regardless of what Biden did wrong, he couldn’t be impeached because “no one wants Harris.”
DeSantis made his comment in response to a question from a voter about the crowded GOP Presidential candidate race and whether that crowding would “fracture the vote,” jeopardizing DeSantis’s chances of winning the GOP nomination.
The Florida Governor began by suggesting “the sky is the limit” for his 2024 Campaign, adding that he was only running to “win and deliver” instead of, as the media had suggested, an attempt to “get his name out there.”
He then pivoted to Harris and Biden, saying he felt compelled to enter the race to strengthen the field because if Biden wins in 2024, “you may end up with Kamala as president even.”
The GOP President Candidates’ remarks come Amid Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (Colo.) attempt to fast-track impeachment efforts by a group of House Republicans. However, Boebert’s efforts were stalled when her introduction of impeachment articles regarding Biden’s inadequate border policies were referred to the House Homeland Security and Judiciary committees on Thursday.
