(RightIsRight.co) – A shocking case of election sabotage exposing the vulnerability of the voting system has emerged in Georgia, as a former poll worker is accused of mailing bomb threats to election officials.
See the tweet below.
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Nicholas Wimbish’s alleged actions stem from a verbal altercation with a voter at the Jones County Elections Office on October 16.
Following this confrontation, Wimbish reportedly conducted online research to uncover publicly available information about himself, setting the stage for his alleged criminal activities.
The day after the altercation, Wimbish allegedly mailed a threatening letter to the Jones County Elections Superintendent. The letter was crafted to appear as if it came from a “Jones County Voter.”
The contents of the letter are deeply disturbing. It included threats against Wimbish himself and other poll workers, warning that they “should look over their shoulder” and claiming knowledge of their home addresses.
Most alarmingly, the letter contained a chilling postscript: “PS boom toy in early vote place, cigar burning, be safe.”
This explicit bomb threat forced authorities to take immediate action, potentially disrupting the voting process and instilling fear in both election workers and voters.
The FBI’s investigation led to Wimbish’s arrest on November 4, with his first court appearance the following day.
The indictment against him includes serious charges of mailing a bomb threat, conveying false information, mailing a threatening letter, and making false statements to the FBI.
If convicted, Wimbish faces up to 10 years in prison for the bomb threat charge alone, with an additional five years for each of the other charges.
