(RightIsRight.co) – Drawing the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the iconic Graceland mansion, once home to Elvis Presley, has recently been at the center of a possible auction fraud.
Reports indicated that FBI agents had contacted Riley Keough, Presley’s granddaughter, about launching a criminal investigation. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has also been alerted, and insiders suspect they know who orchestrated the fraudulent auction.
A judge in Memphis intervened to stop the scheduled foreclosure sale of Graceland, which raised concerns over potential document forgery.
Additionally, Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins decided to keep the historic property within the Presley family, questioning the legitimacy of the documents that seemingly transferred ownership to an investment firm.
Earlier in the week, Naussany Investments and Private Lending LLC claimed it had the right to auction Graceland, having allegedly loaned $3.8 million to Lisa Marie Presley—Elvis’ daughter—who used the mansion as collateral prior to her death in January 2023.
However, a lawsuit initiated early this week by Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough, disputes these claims. The lawsuit labeled the auction documents fraudulent and asserted that her mother’s signature was forged. It further described the lending company as a fictitious entity created to deceive the estate.
This controversy has left Keough feeling deeply unsettled, as she never imagined Graceland, a property steeped in history, could potentially fall into the hands of an outsider.
The dispute over Graceland’s ownership will now move to court, where the investment company will be required to substantiate its claims.
Elvis purchased Graceland in 1957 for $102,500, the year he released “Blue Christmas” and “All Shook Up.” Today, Graceland is a major attraction in Memphis, drawing about half a million visitors each year.
Following Elvis’ death in 1977, the estate was passed to Lisa Marie and opened to the public as a museum five years later. Following Lisa Marie’s death, ownership of Graceland was transferred to Riley Keough.
