(RightIsRight.co) – On Saturday, February 13, the Senate voted to acquit former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial. The 57-43 vote did not hit the two-thirds benchmark needed to convict the former president, and many Democrats, including Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA), lashed out against the GOP after the loss.
During an interview with MSNBC on Saturday, Swalwell said that his party had put forward a “powerful, thundering case” as to how Trump incited the events of January 6. But, he accused the GOP of blind loyalty to the former president when he said that Democrats “could have called God herself” and failed to get the necessary votes to convict Trump.

Swalwell’s baseless claims that Senate Republicans did not do their due diligence during the trial is appalling. GOP senators are committed to our Constitution, rule of law, and their constituents. To imply anything less than that is insulting to our lawmakers who have each earned a spot in the hallowed halls of Congress.
