EXPOSED: ‘Non-Citizens’ Registered to Vote

(RightIsRight.co) – A shocking report exposed Oregon officials who admitted that a data entry error made it possible for 300 “non-citizens” to be registered to vote in the state since 2021.

Oregon Department of Transportation spokesperson Kevin Glenn revealed that an analysis showed 306 non-citizens were mistakenly registered when they applied for driver’s licenses.

According to the report, Glenn added, “Of those mistakenly registered, two have voted since 2021 in spite of state and federal laws restricting non-citizens from voting.”

Moreover, the error occurred because the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) automatically registers people to vote when they get a driver’s license. Glenn explained that this mistake is “basically a data entry issue.”

Glenn also noted that DMV employees sometimes mistakenly mark an applicant as having a U.S. birth certificate or passport when they do not.

In addition, Oregon’s Secretary of State, LaVonne Griffin-Valade, said her office discovered the issue only last Thursday, and by Friday, she issued a statement about the error.

The secretary announced that the 306 individuals will be “notified by mail that they will not receive a ballot unless they demonstrate that they are eligible to vote.”

“While this error is regrettable, the secretary and the Elections Division stand by automatic voter registration and its many benefits,” Griffin-Valade added.

Furthermore, Democrat Governor Tina Kotek stated, “This situation will not impact the 2024 election in any way.”

However, DMV Administrator Amy Joyce told The Oregonian/OregonLive that further investigation might uncover more non-citizens registered to vote.

Since 2019, non-citizens have been able to obtain driver’s licenses in Oregon.
