(RightIsRight.co) – Liberal New York’s soft-on-crime policies have once again endangered its citizens, especially the political elite as former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepson were viciously attacked by a gang of teenagers on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
See the video below.
This brazen assault on a prominent figure raises alarming questions about the harsh reality of unchecked youth violence.
Two teenage boys, ages 12 and 13, have been arrested for their role in the brutal attack on Paterson and his stepson, Anthony Sliwa.
The incident, which occurred during an evening sidewalk brawl, left both victims beaten and bruised, with Sliwa requiring five stitches in his lip.
This shocking display of violence against a former governor, who is legally blind, underscored the audacity of today’s young offenders and the failure of New York’s justice system to protect its citizens.
The assault stemmed from an earlier altercation when Sliwa confronted a group of teens climbing a fire escape, a common tactic used by criminals to access and vandalize buildings.
Instead of heeding the warning, the teens returned with reinforcements, including adults, to carry out their cowardly attack.
This escalation demonstrates the lack of respect for authority and the absence of consequences that embolden young criminals in liberal-run cities.
The involvement of adults in the attack on Paterson and Sliwa is particularly disturbing.
According to Paterson, “[A woman] threw the first punches in the actual fight and another adult was the second person to throw punches.”
This revelation highlights the breakdown of moral values and the normalization of violence in society, where adults encourage and participate in juvenile delinquency instead of setting a positive example.
“Governor Paterson and his family are glad to see the suspects turned themselves in. We hope that the young people involved learn something from this unfortunate encounter,” a Paterson spokesperson said.
“The Governor is grateful to see the kids’ parents hold them to account and would also like to thank the NYPD for their strong work,” they added.
While it is commendable that the young suspects turned themselves in, accompanied by their parents, the fact remains that they were emboldened to commit such a heinous act in the first place.
The 12-year-old was charged with second-degree gang assault, while the 13-year-old faces charges of third-degree gang assault.
However, given New York’s notoriously lax juvenile justice system, it is questionable whether these young offenders will face any meaningful consequences for their actions.
Moreover, this incident is a wake-up call for New York and other liberal-run cities across America.
The assault on a former governor in a supposedly safe neighborhood proves that no one is immune to the rising tide of youth violence.
In this case, lawmakers must prioritize public safety over misguided notions of “social justice” that only serve to embolden criminals and endanger law-abiding citizens.
Conservative values of personal responsibility, respect for authority, and swift justice are needed now more than ever to combat the growing menace of youth violence.
