(RightIsRight.co) – A special grand jury that probed alleged interference in the 2020 election in Georgia by former President Donald Trump and his allies has recommended that over a dozen people be indicted.
According to the jury forewoman, Emily Kohrs, the recommended indictments cover many charges and “might” even affect Trump himself.
Fulton County DA Fani Willis requested the special grand jury, but it can only make indictment recommendations to her.
“It is not a short list. There are definitely some names you expect,” jury forewoman Kohrs, 30, told NBC News, as cited by Newsmax.
“I don’t think that there are any giant plot twists coming. I don’t think there’s any giant ‘that’s not the way I expected this to go at all’ moments. I would not expect you to be shocked,” she elaborated.
“Potentially. It might,” Kohrs responded when asked if Trump might be included in the jury’s indictment recommendation list.
She refused to reveal any names from the list as per the instructions from the judge presiding over the grand jury.
A report by The Red State noted her TV interview might be violating Georgia law banning discussions of grand jury deliberations.
“To give an example, she says the list of indictments is very long. She also says … that Trump was mentioned a lot in the proceedings, which again appears to be a violation of the law in discussing the deliberations. There are several other breaches in the clips as well,” the report said.
Kohrs made similar remarks in another TV interview, this time with CNN.
“[The jurors] definitely heard a lot about former President Trump, and we definitely discussed him a lot in the room,” she said.
Her interviews came after a judge ordered the release of parts of the grand jury’s report, compiled in December.
The released section showed the 26-member jury interviewed 75 witnesses and found no evidence of voter fraud in Fulton County, Georgia, in the 2020 election. However, it said the jurors decided that one or several witnesses committed perjury by lying to them under oath.
Kohrs said the jurors thought one or possibly two witnesses may have deliberately tried to mislead the panel.
“I remember at least one and probably more than one moment where an answer made me pause because it did not match something that either I had heard previously or something that I had seen,” she told NBC News.
The jury forewoman thought Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina seemed “honest” when questioned before the jurors.
“He was personable. He was forthcoming. He was very willing to just have a conversation,” Kohrs said about it.
Kohrs also admitted that Trump’s lawyer, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, impressed her.
“He may have fought it tooth and nail, but when he got to the door, it was like he respected the fact that the battle had been decided,” she said.
In her words, Trump’s former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, “shared very little.”
The jury’s indictment recommendations are found in seven sections of its final report, which haven’t been made public.
