(RightIsRight.co) – HAPPENING NOW: In a series of developments that have rolled out today, starting with an announcement that reportedly stunned his colleagues and employees, the president of CNN, Jeff Zucker, resigned after admitting he had failed to disclose a romantic relationship with another senior executive at CNN.
Following Zucker’s resignation, former President Donald Trump let the world know what he thinks of Zucker and CNN.
In a twist of irony, Zucker’s sexual relationship with a subordinate was exposed during the internal investigation of former CNN host Chris Cuomo.
As part of a statement Zucker sent the staff at CNN, he said:
“As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years. I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong. As a result, I am resigning today.”
According to the New York Times, Zucker was referring to his sexual relationship with CNN executive vice president and chief marketing officer Allison Gollust.
Bottom line: The longtime boss at CNN, a network that has been sinking in the ratings, has been forced to step down after his sexual relationship with a subordinate was discovered during the investigation of Chris Cuomo.
Further, following on the heels of his resignation, Trump weighed in with a blistering assessment of both Zucker – who he calls a “world-class sleazebag” – and CNN.
