French authorities have arrested four more individuals in connection to the audacious theft of imperial jewels from the Louvre Museum. Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau announced that the suspects, two men aged 38 and 39 and two women aged 31 and 40, are from the Paris region. While their exact roles in the October 19th heist remain unclear, they are being held for questioning for up to 96 hours.
The arrests follow previous detainments of other alleged members of the robbery team. Earlier, investigators brought charges against three men and a woman linked to the theft. One of the charged men, reportedly aged 37, has familial ties to another suspect, further complicating the investigation.

Among the treasures stolen were a diamond-and-emerald necklace gifted by Napoleon to Empress Marie-Louise, jewels associated with 19th-century Queens Marie-Amélie and Hortense, and Empress Eugénie’s pearl-and-diamond tiara. An abandoned crown belonging to Eugénie was left behind as the thieves fled.
The gang utilized a moving truck and ladder to infiltrate the museum’s Apollo Gallery. Using angle grinders, they cut through display cases to seize the jewels, completing their brazen operation in just seven minutes before escaping on scooters.
