(RightIsRight.co) – Claiming she had “cracked” the “hardest glass ceiling,” failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton continued her push to see a woman in the White House by envisioning Democrat nominee Kamala Harris in the Oval Office.
Clinton made these remarks during one of the keynote speeches on the first day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.
Reflecting on her 2016 campaign, in which she lost to former President Donald Trump, Clinton brought back her message of “our time.”
“And nearly 66 million people voted for a future where there is no ceiling on our dreams. The future is here,” Clinton said, encouraging the audience that Democrats need to “keep going.”
While Trump won that election with 304 electoral votes, proving the importance of voters, Clinton remained resolute.
“We put a crack in the highest, hardest glass ceiling,” Clinton stated. “I see freedom through those cracks. … I see Kamala Harris on the other side of those cracks.”
She firmly continued, “On the other side of that glass is Kamala Harris raising her hand and taking the oath of office as our 47th president of the United States. Folks, my friends, when a barrier falls for one of us, it clears the way for all of us.”
Moreover, Clinton took a jab at the GOP nominee, pointing out that he “made history” by becoming the first presidential candidate to be convicted of 34 felonies—a comment that sparked chants of “Lock him up,” echoing Trump’s 2016 rallies where similar chants were directed at Clinton.
“Trump’s lying about [Harris’] record, mocking her name and her laugh. Sound familiar?” Clinton added.
“We have him on the run now. … It takes a village to raise a family, heal a country, and win a campaign,” she concluded.
