Just before ex-President Donald Trump faced his fourth indictment in Georgia on Monday evening, his one-time political rival, Hillary Clinton, couldn’t contain her laughter on MSNBC.

“People across the nation must be curious about Hillary Rodham Clinton’s reaction to the events transpiring in Georgia,” remarked MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, eliciting chuckles from Clinton.

“It’s astonishing,” responded Clinton, laughing once more. “To be honest, I didn’t foresee it happening in this manner. Another set of charges.”

In response to whether she felt vindicated after previously cautioning the nation about Trump’s potential risks to democracy, Clinton expressed deep concern over the prospect of another indictment against Trump.

That same night, Trump was formally indicted, with a slew of allegations laid out by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

The accusations against Trump encompass breaches of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, along with a range of other offenses. It’s worth noting that not every person indicted is charged with the same offenses.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Trump described himself as the victim of the “most extensive and enduring political persecution in U.S. history.”

Arguing about the timing, he noted, “This politically-motivated indictment, which could have been introduced nearly three years ago, seems strategically timed during my political campaign, where I lead among Republicans and outpace Joe Biden in several polls.”

Clinton, even after her laughter, underscored the seriousness of the charges against Trump during her MSNBC segment.

“No one should feel triumphant,” she commented. “It’s a concerning time for our nation when a past president faces such grave allegations. The silver lining might be our system’s resilience, ensuring that endeavors by Donald Trump and his associates to suppress the truth and challenge democracy are exposed.”

“The wheels of justice are in motion,” she concluded.
