Iran Denies Involvement in Deadly Rocket Attack

( – The depth of history and religion within the Middle East means the land is constantly fought over, often with deadly consequences. The latest mortal rocket attack hurt multiple Americans, causing many citizens to call for justice.

On Monday, February 15, 14 rockets hit US-led coalition forces in the Kurdish regional capital of Erbil in Iraq. The attack killed one contractor and injured nine more, including a US service member.

The group Saraya Awliya al-Dam, which translates to “Guardians of Blood Brigades,” claimed responsibility for the attack, although they did not provide proof. Many people are questioning whether Iran-backed Shiite militias were behind the attack, although no evidence has yet to be brought forward.

House Representative Mark Green (R-TN) asked Americans to support those who were attacked:

The US will work with the Iraqi government to investigate the incident and bring justice to those who lost their lives. A strong stance against these evil forces is critical to keeping our nation safe.
