Is $13 Million Enough Justice for THIS?!

(RightIsRight.co) – A Massachusetts man’s life was stolen by a corrupt system that falsely imprisoned him for nearly 30 years and now he has finally been declared innocent and awarded $13 million by a jury.

Michael Sullivan’s nightmare began when he was convicted of the 1986 murder and robbery of Wilfred McGrath based on unreliable testimony and fabricated evidence.

The corrupt system that put him behind bars relied on the word of another suspect, Gary Grace, who provided false testimony in exchange for a deal with prosecutors.

Adding insult to injury, a Massachusetts State Police chemical analyst named Robert Pino falsely attributed evidence to Sullivan.

This gross misconduct was not an isolated incident, as Pino was fired in 2007 for a pattern of unethical behavior, including fabricating evidence and failing to report DNA matches.

The truth finally came to light in 2011 when DNA testing revealed no blood on the jacket, supposedly linking Sullivan to the crime.

This crucial evidence, which had been used to secure his conviction, was proven to be a complete fabrication.

“The most important thing is finding me innocent of the murder, expunging it from my record. The money, of course, will be very helpful to me,” he said.

While Sullivan was unjustly imprisoned, his life continued to crumble outside prison walls. His mother and four siblings passed away, and he endured multiple attacks behind bars.

The system that wrongfully convicted him not only stole his freedom but also robbed him of precious time with his loved ones and subjected him to violence and trauma.

Now, despite a jury awarding Sullivan $13 million in recognition of his immense suffering, Massachusetts state regulations may cap his compensation at a mere $1 million.

This unjust law further insults the grave injustice Sullivan has already endured, potentially denying him the full compensation he rightfully deserves.

As Sullivan struggles to rebuild his life and adapt to a world that has changed dramatically during his unjust imprisonment, his story serves as a rallying cry for all who value justice and individual liberty.
