(RightIsRight.co) – Popular podcaster Joe Rogan, a libertarian comedian, has made an unexpected announcement concerning the 2024 presidential election as he has directly endorsed Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis to become the next President of the United States.
Rogan, who allegedly has a $200 million contract with streaming service Spotify for his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” declared his all-out support for DeSantis while interviewing actress Gina Carano, a victim of leftist cancel culture.
The podcaster stated that DeSantis “would work as a good president” as he lauded his record as Governor of Florida, including his handling of the COVID-19 while defending the freedoms of the American people. DeSantis notably ended the state lockdown earlier than most other states.
“I feel like what he did for Florida, a lot of people gave him a lot of grief, but ultimately he was correct. He was correct when it comes to like deaths, he was correct. And when it comes to protecting all vulnerable populations, he was correct in terms of distribution of monoclonal antibodies,” Joe Rogan stated, calling DeSantis’ achievements as governor “admirable.”
“He is not perfect. He’s a human being, but what he’s done is stand up for freedoms,” the podcaster added.
For the time being, DeSantis hasn’t announced anything definitive regarding the possibility of running for President in 2024. He is presently running for a second term as Governor of Florida in the gubernatorial elections in November.
When asked about his intentions and prospects of running for President in 2024, he has responded that he is concentrating on the state gubernatorial race.
While former President Donald Trump seems to remain the favorite for clinching the 2024 presidential nomination of the GOP, DeSantis has recently won straw polls, and his popularity among Republican voters appears to be growing.
Formerly a US House of Representatives member, DeSantis became Governor in 2018 with Trump’s endorsement. Trump has recently said that he doesn’t know whether the Florida Governor would challenge him for the next GOP nomination but that he is confident he will prevail.
Rogan’s praise and full-fledged endorsement of Ron DeSantis is a notable departure from his previous presidential election pick. In 2020, Rogan supported Bernie Sanders, the Democrat Senator from Vermont.
