(RightIsRight.co) – GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump supporters got a huge win, as a Texas federal jury dismissed most of the voter intimidation claims against a MAGA group involved in surrounding a Biden-Harris campaign bus on Interstate 35 just before the 2020 election.
According to a source, the jury found Eliazar Cisneros liable. Still, it cleared five others in a civil case involving the “Trump Train,” which surrounded and slowed down the Biden-Harris bus between San Antonio and Austin.
Among those aboard the bus was former Democrat lawmaker Wendy Davis, who testified she feared for her life while a convoy of Trump supporters boxed in the bus along Interstate 35.
Davis recorded video from the bus that shows pickup trucks with large Trump flags slowing down to a box in the bus as it tried to move away from the group of Trump supporters.
Cisneros’ vehicle hit a volunteer’s car during the convoy, and the court ordered him to pay the bus driver, Tim Holloway, $10,000 in damages, plus $30,000 in punitive damages.
“We’re just ready to feel like normal people again,” said Joeylynn Mesaros, one of the defendants. “It’s been a thousand-something days to have our day in court.”
Moreover, Holloway clarified that his complaint was not about politics. “When I came to this case it was never about politics that day. I’m grateful, I’m proud of my team,” he said.
The source confirmed that no criminal charges were filed against the “Trump Train” participants, and Cisneros’ attorneys plan to appeal the verdict.
In addition, the jury started deliberating on September 20 to decide if the convoy amounted to political intimidation during the heated highway encounter.
The two-week civil trial included testimony from former Texas Democratic lawmaker Wendy Davis and two other passengers on the bus, who brought the lawsuit against the six Trump supporters.
