(RightIsRight.co) – After over 91 days without visiting the US-Mexico border, Vice President Kamala Harris has finally agreed to make an appearance where the crisis she is in charge of is centered. This only came after months of Republicans criticizing her for her lack of presence at the border and after weeks of moderate Democrats doing the same.
On Wednesday, June 23, Harris’ chief spokeswoman Symone Sanders announced that the vice president would accompany Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the southern border in El Paso, Texas on Friday, June 25. This announcement came just a few days after former President Donald Trump planned his own trip to the border, as shared here by Newsmax:

Soon after Harris’ visit was announced, Trump took some credit for pressuring the second-in-command to visit the border, tweeting that if he and Texas Governor Greg Abbott “weren’t going there next week, she would have never gone!” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki shrugged off the reasoning for the trip having anything to do with Trump’s impending visit, instead saying it’s finally the “right time.”
After months of doing little to address the issues at hand as well as taking a chaotic trip to Guatemala and Mexico earlier this month, Vice President Harris is finally coming face to face with the crisis she and President Biden created. Hopefully, seeing the reality of the disaster will motivate them to get their act together and fix the mess.
