Lawmakers Say This Democrat Icon In Serious Mental Decline

U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)

(RightIsRight.co) – Over the history of the United States Senate — often referred to as the most exclusive club in the world — numerous Senators have remained in office long after their mental faculties have declined to the point that they cannot serve their constituents and country effectively.

In recent history, both Sens. Strom Thurmond and Robert Byrd remained in office to the point that they were visibly unable to function. Still, they cast votes — votes that they probably could not comprehend.

Now, questions are being raised about Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) ability to function cognitively at a level appropriate for a sitting United States Senator.

As Breitbart recounts:

“The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday that a growing number of lawmakers are concerned that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who is 88 years old, is in a state of mental decline so severe that she may need to resign in the near future.”

According to the Chronicle:

“Four U.S. senators, including three Democrats, as well as three former Feinstein staffers and a California Democratic member of Congress told The Chronicle in recent interviews that her memory is rapidly deteriorating. They said it appears she can no longer fulfill her job duties without her staff doing much of the work required to represent the nearly 40 million people of California.”

And yet, there is no way under the Constitution of the United States to remove a Senator short of losing an election. And, incredibly, Feinstein has already filed the paperwork to run for reelection in 2024.

What is your opinion? Do you believe there are elected officials in the federal government who remain in office long after they have lost the mental capacity to function? Can you name any that you are concerned about staying in office given their mental state? Please email your thoughts to [email protected] Thank you.
