Former President Trump in an extensive exclusive interview with Fox News Digital on Thursday revealed that the federal indictment brought against him constitutes “illegal interference” and that this has been “the greatest witch hunt of all time.” He proceeded to state that on Tuesday he was going to plead not guilty in federal court as he is “totally innocent.”
Trump is currently the front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary and on Thursday it was announced that he would be indicted on federal charges resulting from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s months-long investigation into Trump’s handling of classified material which was retrieved from his Mar-a-Lago home.
The indictment has not yet been unsealed, but Trump is listed in the indictment and could be facing at least seven counts relating to obstructing justice, conspiracy, and illegal retention of classified government material. He is now set to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday.
In his interview with Fox News Digital Trump claimed that the Biden administration was the most “corrupt administration in history” and that currently, they are trying to deflect by bringing up this “boxes hoax case.” He noted that this would not be something they would be able to “get away with.”
He proceeded to cite the Presidential Records Act arguing that he had done nothing wrong and that he was completely innocent in this case.
President Biden is facing his own special counsel investigation about his handling of classified records, however, Trump has predicted that the probe into Biden will not result in anything.
