Lou Dobbs Attacks GOP Establishment for Failing Election Results

(RightIsRight.co) – There is rarely one sole reason why someone loses an election. For Fox Business host Lou Dobbs, however, there were three main reasons, or in this case, people, that caused Republicans to lose the 2020 election and mainstream support in the months that followed.

Lou Dobbs and Leo Terrell Reprimand Republican Leaders

On Wednesday, January 20, Dobbs joined American civil rights attorney Leo Terrell to talk about what went wrong in the GOP over the past few weeks.

Dobbs suggested that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel each hold a “tremendous” amount of responsibility for the GOP’s losses.

Kevin McCarthy Flip Flops on Support of Trump

Dobbs highlighted that Kevin McCarthy originally said that Trump “bore responsibility” for the protestors that entered the US Capitol on January 6. However, McCarthy is now backpedaling on his earlier comments, now saying that former President Trump did not provoke the people who invaded the Capitol.

McCarthy’s lack of support for Trump and his inability to stick to his opinion is not the strong leadership the GOP currently demands.

McConnell Considers Supporting Trump’s Impeachment

While many Republicans stood firm in their support of Trump, Mitch McConnell did not. Dobbs pointed out that McConnell pointed fingers to Trump for the assault on the Capitol. He also encouraged Senators to make “a vote of conscience” regarding an impeachment trial. McConnell’s inability to choose a side certainly does not give Republicans confidence in their current Senate leader.

Ronna McDaniel Lost Control of the Senate

Throughout months of elections, Republicans fought to maintain control of the Senate. However, after Georgia’s special election, Democrats effectively have the Senate majority with Vice President Kamala Harris in the position of tie-breaker.

Lou Dobbs blames the loss of seats on RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, although Terrell defended McDaniel, stating she’s “a wonderful person” even with the lost elections.

Lou and Terrell Propose a Challenge to Political Leaders

After discussing these major GOP leaders, Leo Terrell asked those in support of this “frivolous” impeachment to specifically point out what Trump did to warrant such an accusation. These two commentators shared a fresh look at the GOP and just what we need to look for in our leaders in order to take back the Senate, House, and presidency in the coming years.
