The Turkey Pâté Wet canned dog food accounts for 3,852 cases, while the Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté Wet canned dog food makes up another 1,973 cases. The company says customer complaints about possible metal contamination triggered the action.

The recall notice gets specific. The Turkey Pâté comes in a 12.2-ounce can with lot code EP2A3306 551006 and a best-by date of March 2029.

The Meatloaf Pâté ships in a 12.5-ounce can with a similar lot code and matching best-by date. Pet owners can check their pantry against these exact numbers rather than guessing based on the product name alone.

Where The Food Was Sold And Who’s Affected

Fromm distributed the recalled cans through neighborhood pet stores and other retail channels across the country. Reporting from Michigan confirmed that the recall reached buyers well beyond Wisconsin, with more than 5,800 cases nationwide.

Local television stations from Miami to Louisville picked up the story within days, a sign of how fast pet food safety news travels once a national brand is involved.

So far, Fromm says no dogs have gotten sick, and no injuries have been tied to the cans in question. That detail matters.

Two recalls in under a year from the same manufacturer raise fair questions about quality control on the production line, even without any confirmed injuries connecting the two events.

Fromm isn’t alone in facing this kind of issue. Mars Petcare recalled two lots of Pedigree canned dog food in July 2026 after finding possible metal and plastic pieces that were sharp enough to cause mouth or throat injuries.

A review of FDA pet food recalls from 2003 through 2022 found foreign material has long been a recurring, if smaller, category compared to bacterial and chemical contamination. Metal and plastic showing up in cans is rare enough to make news but not shocking.

What Dog Owners Should Do Right Now

Check any cans of Fromm Turkey Pâté or Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté against the UPC codes and lot numbers listed in the FDA notice. If the numbers match, stop feeding the product to your dog immediately.
