(RightIsRight.co) – As migrants keep heading toward the US-Mexico border, the effects are being felt in a variety of ways. Not only is the surge putting an enormous strain on US taxpayers, but Mexican smugglers are seeing a huge paycheck bump as more people try to make it to the border.
This week, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provided numbers to Fox News on the fees they believe are being charged to smuggle people over the border. For example, in February, the smuggling of Central American children brought in $34.1 million to human traffickers while Central American families paid another $80.7 million. Single adults from the region likely paid $139.5 million to smugglers to cross the border.
It’s estimated that last month, various smuggling groups brought in a total revenue of over $14 million per day on average for this crisis.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden contracted hotel rooms for 1,200 families who crossed the border to the tune of $86 million last week. While some from the Left sees this as “compassion,” Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) has a better perspective:

Not only is the Biden border crisis straining our border patrol and national security, but it’s encouraging citizens of other nations to give millions of dollars to criminals nearby. Biden must take ownership of this crisis and crackdown on the border before it’s too late.
