(RightIsRight.co) – With only 47 days left until Election Day, polling from Georgia shows a tight race in this key state between Republican candidate Donald Trump and his opponent, Democrat Kamala Harris.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution released a recent survey that revealed Trump ahead of Harris in the state, 47% to 44% among likely voters.
About 7% of Georgia voters are still undecided, while independent candidate Cornel West and other third-party contenders received less than 1% support.
Trump continues to enjoy strong support from Georgia’s GOP base, with over 90% of Georgia Republicans and about 65.4% of white voters backing his third run for the presidency.
Moreover, Harris has made headway among independents, with 50.4% supporting her compared to 34.1% backing Trump. She also received about 77% support from Black voters in the state—a number lower than what the Democrats need in a state that Biden won by a narrow margin in 2020.
The survey shows that 48% of respondents have a favorable view of Harris, while the same percentage view her unfavorably. Around 12 percent of Black voters are still undecided.
On the GOP side, about 51% of voters in Georgia have a negative view of Trump, slightly higher than the 46% who view him positively.
In addition, 27% of Georgia voters cite inflation and the cost of living as their top concerns. Nearly 18% emphasize preserving democracy, while 15% see the economy as the most crucial issue before the election.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate polling index shows Trump leading in Georgia with 48% support compared to Harris’s 47.7%.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll, conducted by the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs from September 9 to 15 among 1,000 likely voters, has a margin of error of 3.1% points.
