New Mexico Ready to Arrest Alec Baldwin

(RightIsRight.co) – The state of New Mexico appears set to arrest Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin for last year’s killing of Halyna Hutchins, a cinematographer, on the set of the movie “Rust.”

The state authorities’ readiness to go ahead with Baldwin’s arrest has been exposed in a funding request filed by the First Judicial District Court’s office.

In it, New Mexico DA Mary Carmack-Altwies listed the Hollywood star as “one of the possible defendants,” reported Newsmax citing The Santa Fe New Mexican.

The district attorney is reportedly asking for $635,000 to prosecute suspects in the case of the killing of 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins.

The office of Carmack-Altwies also noted in the document that prosecuting the case about her death “could require up to four separate trials.”

The First Judicial District Court office has already been granted more than $317,000 by the New Mexico state board of finance to work on the case.

The document revealed the DA is “certainly looking at all the homicide statutes and any gun statutes under New Mexico criminal code.”

“The reason for our emergency request is because we expect to receive the final report soon,” Carmack-Altwies noted in the funding request.

Halyna Hutchins, a Ukrainian-born cinematographer, died last year on a movie set shortly after Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun in her direction.

In April, the Sheriff’s Office of Santa Fe County made public video footage and photos of the incident in which Baldwin appeared to be rehearsing with live ammunition. He could be seen drawing a revolver, pointing it at the camera, and then repeating.

Some of the released videos are from body-camera footage taken by the sheriff’s deputies. It shows paramedics arriving on site and treating Hutchins and Joel Souza, the film director, who suffered non-lethal wounds.

After the fatal prop gunshot inside the Old West church on set, Hutchins was lying on the ground quietly while Souza was writhing in pain, The Wall Street Journal has reported.

Crew members of the movie “Rust” were forbidden from entering the church after the incident because it was considered a crime scene by the authorities.

65-year-old Alec Baldwin has been claiming that he is innocent and that the cinematographer’s murder was an accident.

The news that New Mexico may be preparing to arrest the Hollywood actor comes days after he and his wife Hilaria had their seventh child, a daughter.
