(RightIsRight.co) – Republicans speculated as to what role Donald Trump would play in taking the GOP forward after his departure from the White House in January. As other right-wing lawmakers eye up the 2024 presidential ticket, one agreed to work with the former commander-in-chief before any decision she makes regarding a presidential bid.
On Tuesday, October 5, former South Carolina Governor and US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, praised the Trump administration’s “strong legacy” at Simi Valley, California’s Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. She emphasized that Republicans “need him” in the party moving forward.
Haley used a soft approach looking forward to the presidential election to discuss a potential run. She noted that if there is a place for her, she “would pick up the phone and meet with the president” so they could work on their plans together.
The Wall Street Journal shared more of Haley’s remarks from that interview:
Nikki Haley calls Donald Trump a friend and says she’d consult with him before embarking on a White House bid. "We need him in the Republican Party. I don't want us to go back to the days before Trump.” https://t.co/zDuQPOOgcp

Haley is traveling the nation like many presidential hopefuls raising money and rallying voters for the 2022 midterms as Republicans hope to take back Congress. For now, Americans will have to wait and see if Haley tries for a White House bid or if she ends up on the ticket with a certain former president.
