(RightIsRight.co) – Since the early weeks of 2020, citizens around the world have endured a variety of lockdowns, including strict curfews, limited mobility, and mask mandates as governments attempted to protect them from COVID-19. Now, some governments have announced that restrictions are over, sending their citizens to celebrate in the streets.
On Friday, September 24, the Norwegian government announced that it would remove all coronavirus restrictions the following day. This abrupt declaration sent thousands of citizens outside flooding into bars, restaurants and crowded streets to enjoy their freedom once again.
Outgoing Prime Minister Erna Solberg emphasized, “the time has come to return to a normal daily life” and that “people must be allowed to live as they wish.” While citizens overwhelmingly celebrated the removal of restrictions, many business owners wished the government had given more warning, as people swamped their businesses while fights and various other disturbances simultaneously broke out.

As everyone looks for an end to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s beautiful to see one country returning to normal as the government eases restrictions. Hopefully, other nations follow suit and allow their citizens to enjoy uninhibited freedom once again.
