Obama Reportedly Responsible for 2014 Release of Taliban Leader

(RightIsRight.co) – The Taliban executed an incredibly swift takeover of Afghanistan over the past few weeks, eventually leading to their invasion of the presidential palace in Kabul. As people around the world watched it unfold, many wondered how the terrorists sitting behind the Afghan’s president’s desk got there. New reports detail that one of the invasion’s main orchestrators was a prisoner at Guantanamo Bay.

In 2014, former President Obama released the “Taliban Five” from their life in prison sentence at Guantanamo Bay. The group includes top commanders who founded the terrorist group and helped plan 9/11. Obama did this as a prison exchange for the release of then-Army Sergeant Robert “Bowe” Bergdahl, an American soldier who deserted his post and was eventually dishonorably discharged from service.

One of the released Taliban leaders, Khairullah Khairkhwa, turned out to be the mastermind behind the terrorist group’s latest takeover of Kabul. It turns out, Khairkhwa and the other four leaders were never cleared from the Gitmo parole board. Now, Americans understand why.

Senior news correspondent Adam Housley outlined the atrocious situation:

Khairkhwa is at least partly responsible for what’s happening now in Afghanistan. It’s likely many citizens can’t help but wonder if things would have gone differently if he was still sitting in prison in Cuba. For now, however, our government must focus on protecting and evacuating our citizens still in the crumbling nation.
