(RightIsRight.co) – Exposing yet another tragic consequence of America’s open border crisis, a tragedy occurred at a Brooklyn family shelter as a 4-year-old boy died from a suspected fentanyl overdose.

See the video below.

The child was discovered unresponsive at the Women In Need (WIN) shelter in East Flatbush and became the latest innocent victim of the deadly drugs pouring across the southern border and into communities.

Police officers responded to the shelter to find the young boy already unconscious and displaying signs of an overdose.

First responders administered Narcan before rushing him to Maimonides Medical Center, where he later died despite medical intervention.

The boy’s parents have been taken into custody after investigators discovered drug paraphernalia in their shelter apartment.

Authorities believe the parents were using fentanyl and carelessly exposed their child to the lethal substance, which can be fatal even in microscopic amounts.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the cascading effects of the border crisis that has allowed unprecedented quantities of fentanyl to flood American cities.

Drug seizures at the border have reached record levels, yet countless shipments still make it through, devastating communities and claiming victims of all ages.

A hazmat team joined police officers at the scene investigating the dangerous substances in the shelter room.

The East Flatbush facility, operated by WIN, houses vulnerable families who now find themselves in a location where deadly drugs were accessible to a preschooler.

During President Trump’s administration, border security and the fight against fentanyl trafficking were top priorities.

The current administration’s policies have coincided with a surge in both illegal immigration and drug trafficking, with increasingly younger victims paying the ultimate price.

Furthermore, the Brooklyn tragedy follows a similar case that recently concluded with the sentencing of a Bronx daycare operator to 45 years in prison after a toddler died from fentanyl exposure.

These preventable deaths reflect a growing crisis in Democrat-run cities where drug enforcement has taken a backseat to progressive policies.

A WIN spokesperson stated:

“WIN is devastated that a child in one of our shelters has been hospitalized. We are working closely with the NYPD to support their ongoing investigation. We remain committed as ever to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all families that call a WIN shelter home.”

While no charges have been filed against the parents yet, though they remain in custody for questioning.

The investigation continues as authorities test the recovered drug paraphernalia, likely to confirm the presence of fentanyl, which has become the leading cause of death for Americans between 18 and 45.

Conservative lawmakers have repeatedly called for stronger border security measures and harsher penalties for fentanyl traffickers.

Without immediate action to secure the borders, more innocent children will fall victim to this deadly crisis that continues to spiral out of control under current leadership.
