(RightIsRight.co) – It’s no surprise that a man who shot three innocent bystanders in New York City’s Times Square fled the scene. But, thanks to many Americans on the lookout and willing to provide information to Crimestoppers about the alleged shooter, he was arrested by police over 500 miles away just days after the crime.
On Saturday, May 8, Farrakhan Muhammad got into an argument with other men in Times Square and tried to shoot them with his gun. But, he missed and instead hit two women and a four-year-old girl from Brooklyn. Thankfully, no one was critically injured. But, Muhammad fled the scene, changed his clothes at a nearby hotel, and headed to Florida with his girlfriend to evade arrest.
New York City’s Police Commissioner Dermot Shea shared the news of his arrest:
⚠️ ARRESTED
The man who brazenly fired a gun in busy @TimesSquareNYC striking 3 people — including a 4-year-old — was apprehended by our @USMarshalsHQ partners today in Florida.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who responded that day & who continue to work on this investigation. pic.twitter.com/TVDUDYdFA2

Police arrested the alleged criminal at a McDonald’s near Jacksonville, Florida. Muhammad’s girlfriend will also be charged for assisting in her boyfriend’s escape. This story shows us the incredible power of Americans who are willing to work together with police to bring closure and justice to all those involved in the shooting last weekend.
